Wasp removal in Perth

Wasps nests are very common in Perth. They are commonly found under fence capping, under overhanging windows, under the eaves of houses, garages, and sheds. I have found them in washing line poles and in swings and other play equipment.

Wasp nest removal can be very dangerous. Usually, the wasps we find are paper wasps and they can be very aggressive. Unlike bees, wasps can sting many times. Bees can only sting you once.

If you go near a nest the wasps feel threatened and will attack you. There will often be sentry wasps on guard who defend their nest and eggs and will come out and sting without provocation.

Can You remove the nest yourself?

Yes, However, it is always best to get a professional pest controller in to remove the nest as they will have had lots of experience and wear protective clothing to do so.

European Wasps

These are notifiable pests in Perth and have been found in certain areas. Outside they may nest in old rodent burrows, hollow trees, and bushes.

Once indoors, they prefer to build nests in sheltered locations with easy access to the outside, such as lofts, garages, and wall cavities.

European wasps are very aggressive. Their nests are a lot bigger than paper wasps. Typically there are around 3000 wasps with the nest getting to the size of a netball.
European wasps have been known to form super nests with more than 10,000 individuals!
