German cockroaches can live off next to nothing, multiply in their hundreds and take over a kitchen in no time.
Female roaches carry around a highly resistant egg case with up to 30 eggs inside, once hatched a cockroach nymph can take as little as 18 to 21 days to reach adult hood.
Adult cockroaches poo and vomit a lot, this is to provide a ready made food source for the nymphs to feed off. The nymphs need no food other than the processed droppings the adults leave behind.
Nothing off the shelf will touch these insects. You need a combination of nonrepellent treatments and professional-grade cockroach baits to knock these insects over.
For long-term management of German cockroaches you need to break the breeding cycle and stop the nymphal stages from maturing.
