The best time of year to get this treatment done is mid-springtime when most spiders and insects are starting to grow.
If you are moving into a new home and would like to have the interior treated I would recommend that you get it done before your furniture is moved in and the cleaning has been finished.
A general or annual pest control treatment is a spray applied to all exterior surfaces, cracks & crevices, and wall penetrations around your property. For most properties the treatment will last for around a year, ants can be a problem and the treatment should keep them away for around three months, often much longer. This will depend on what is happening in the neighbouring properties and on other environmental issues in the near vicinity.
I often leave ant sand ($36 + gst for a 1 kg tube) with clients so they can treat any ant’s nests that I may have missed or which pop up later in the season. It takes around 1.5 to 2.5 hours to complete the treatment depending on the size of the house and surrounding garden area.
